Hope Means Nevada
Hello everyone! I am currently a high school senior at Nevada State High School and I joined Hope Means Nevada as a junior. I joined Hope Means Nevada because I am dedicated to the cause of spreading mental health awareness.
Behavioral health is a major component of health as a whole, but it is often not acknowledged or treated as such. This is especially true in the state of Nevada: we have high rates of teen suicide, youth homelessness, and youth substance abuse. A lack of regard for mental health is correlated with all of these issues. As a born and raised Nevadan, I believe that our community is one deserving of advocacy. I am excited to be a part of this organization because I hope that in doing so I am investing in the health and future of myself, my peers, and all other individuals who are struggling.
I am currently working on my Associate of Arts of Psychology at the College of Southern Nevada so that I can work as a mental health technician soon. When I am older, I would like to become a licensed clinical social worker. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, volunteering, and camping.
